Happy Pride!

The best time to come back, we think~ so, welcome to the news board -- ready for some news?

After 4 long years I have finally graduated college! Receiving two Bachelors of Science; one in Computer Engineering and the other in Electrical Engineering. So this special update is brought to you by a finally-free-at-last Bat who is very ready to get some art done.

Breaking it Down

Before we can talk about Fierce Ferrets being back in action 100%, we need to get some important backlog & loose ends taken care of...

Streaming, Patreon, and a Special Thanks to our Subscribers

So to start; yes we have brought back the Patreon. As it stands, Ko-Fi has backpeddled on their AI stance and it doesn't seem to matter who we use anymore, so we figure the more options the better as Patreons till sort of has -that- rep (unfortunately.=) At the end of the day, we can never delete our Patreon because its how webtoons pays us... but it was nice handling subscribers in one place while it lasted.

Subscribers who have kept us going all this time will indeed be rewarded for their patience, and I just want to give a special shoutout to y'all for continuing to believe in us. Its been a really long and hard journey, but we have so much we want to and will do.

The first thing we'll be back to doing is streaming consistently - it's the easiest task to get up and running. Our new schedule is going to be Art on Mondays & Games on Fridays (and sometimes Wednesdays), all starting at 6pm (EST). We're trying something new for Fridays we're calling "Demo Diving" in which we try out demos for upcoming games as a means to spread awareness and help some devs out. And since demos are free, you can also check them out yourself!

Ashes of Creation Scam Revealed

Speaking of streaming... it's time to address the elephant in the room.

When my wife and I pledged back in 2021 we were in a tough place with the pandemic having crippled our business. When we found the project and a lot of folx were talking about it, we genuinely though it was a really interesting leap and had some fresh ideas for the genre being full time freelancers I thought maybe this could be a project we jump in on from the ground up and make a name in - an gamble/investment for our future, basically.

I was ear to the ground for that first year and it genuinely felt like it was going places - I was writing pieces on it, contributing to theory crafting, anything to really try and get our name associated to it. But once our finances really hit rock bottom I had to get a day job... the complete collapse of my art career and the offer of tuition reimbursement lead me back to school and just completely career shifting.

Flash back to today, now I just feel like a complete fool, I don't know why I really never thought to do any research on Steven or anyone involved... It doesn't help how insufferable people on reddit are being, there's just no compassion for anyone who invested because a vocal minority was being uppiddy jackasses. The whole situation has just been so incredibly depressing and regretful, I can't even imagine how the devs feel who actually believed in it and spent even more time and energy trying to make it happen.

Sorry for the rambling, but the TLDR is; we have jumped the ship, in this case the ship having been a cardboard cutout.

I don't know whats going to happen to ashes, if someone will pick it up or if its gonna die off (as expected) but Im not holding my breath on getting any money back or anything good coming from it.

The Future of Fierce Ferrets

We are fully committed to coming back to making art, the future being comics and games. As from the outline above, our first task will be wrapping up the current arcs for Beelzebud and Dungeonminis. Subscribers will have access to those strips as they are made, everyone else will have to wait until we've finished up. We are looking to have both done and posted by Christmas of this year.

After that; Leia will be deciding what she wants to do, she's been in a bit of a weird place with her writing and so there will probably be a gap before we see more. BUT FEAR NOT! She seems genuinely interested in doing more work on these IPs, she just might be slow getting back into them.

In the meantime, we will still be doing streams and lets plays, and I will be working on my own ventures; I am starting a Magical Girl/Horror webseries called The Midnight Museum, and I have SEVERAL game projects I am excited to dive into - the first being Serial Fisher! A horror-fishing game.

All in all, the future here at Fierce Ferrets is bright and we can't wait for you to join us on our journey of revival.

Looking ahead with the Community

Just as much as our artistic return is important, so is our community. One such thing is making our own discord bot, which I have listed on our checklist for later down the line, and we've been preparing alternatives incase anything happens to discord. While I have made us a Reddit, I think ultimately I will just be making our own forum when I redo our website.

More importantly though; I want to start hosting weekly community nights that will rotate between [watch parties -> art parties -> game parties -> boardgame parties] (Tabletop Sim or such other platform)

I also want to find more games we play as a community - we've so far jumped back into the Division 2, but I am interested in running some other games such as Palia (free to play) 7 Days to Die, Conan Exiles, or something yet to come out like Loftia or Guild Wars 3. If you have any such suggestions, please feel free to bring them to Radio Chat on the discord <3

The point is; we are not only committed to our art quest, but everything Fierce Ferrets - including our friends and fans. We are a community, and I intend to help us to feel like one.

Thank you

Thank you all so much for your patience these last few years. We are going to do everything we can to pay your kindness forward, and we hope you'll stick along with us just a little bit longer while we prepare to make that happen.
